Beyond Business As UsualreSET Network General Meeting:
Wednesday September 15, 2010
Help make our State a hub of Social Enterprise

Social Enterprise is a new business model that recognizes the power and potential of the market place but puts people and purpose before profit.  A Social Enterprise is any organization that uses market forces (selling goods or services) to achieve public good.  Profit, while an important measure of health is not the bottom line, positive contribution is the ultimate goal.

reSET (Social Enterprise Trust) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the promotion, preservation, and protection of social enterprise.  We believe that this new model offers us a more satisfying and ultimately sustainable way of doing business.

The CT Social Enterprise Network (CTSEN) is an alliance of people who would like to see Connecticut become a hub of Social Enterprise.  This meeting is a follow-up to the June 2nd Beyond Business as Usual Breakfast Forum that was organized by CTSEN and hosted by reSET and Leadership Greater Hartford.  Over 250 people came to learn more about Social Enterprise from the panel of experts in the field, Bob Forrester, CEO of Newman’s Own Foundation, Kate Emery, founder and CEO of Walker Systems Support, and Joy Anderson, Principal, Criterion Investments.  It is open to the public and begins the work of creating a Hub of Social Enterprise in our state.
